A life worth revisiting

For many seniors, a life story is a chance to be seen again for who they’ve always been: the soldier, the teacher, the business owner, the dancer, the parent who held a family together. What it asks of your community
Families usually create and manage the life story, and your community doesn’t have to purchase anything. Introducing Kboodle is optional for families, so there’s nothing for you to enforce. A way to share your loved one’s story
Photos, videos, and stories carry so much of who a person is. When residents revisit their wedding day, their years raising a family, or a career they were proud of, their faces often light up and the stories start to flow.
Kboodle is an online place to bring those memories together into a life story, to look through during a visit and to share with relatives and with our care team, so we can get to know your loved one even better. It’s entirely optional. If you’re interested, you can learn more here.

Then highlight the words “learn more here” in your note, click the link button in your email or newsletter program, and paste the web address you chose.

Bring a life story to the bedside
With Kboodle QR Pictures™ and Kboodle QR Stickers™, you can print any photo of a resident with an embedded QR code, or print a Kboodle QR Sticker™, and post it on their room door or bedside. Anyone who scans the code can open the Kboodle Album it links to, including the videos, audio recordings, and interests the family has added.
Build community
With the permission of the resident and family, these pictures can also be posted in common areas, so residents and visitors can learn about each other’s lives and accomplishments. A neighbor down the hall might discover they grew up in the same town or served in the same war, and a new friendship begins.
See the whole person, not just the preferences
Kboodle organizes memories in the natural order of a person’s life, so your team sees the full story. For example, knowing that Mrs. Johnson was a professional pianist in her twenties, taught lessons while raising children, and played for church services into her seventies gives you far more to work with than “she likes music.” Ask her about her first recital, and you may just make her day.
A note on privacy
QR pictures and stickers are public, so anyone who scans one can view what it links to. Families decide what to include, and we recommend keeping personal and sensitive details, such as addresses, full birth dates, financial information, and medical or care instructions, out of any album linked to a QR code.
